Is my damp wall caused by condensation or a leak?
Appearance alone cannot establish the cause. Tell us whether the patch follows rain, use of plumbing or cold weather, and whether it changes size. Mayfair can arrange the appropriate investigation; a moisture reading by itself is not a complete diagnosis.
Mould keeps coming back. Will repainting fix it?
Repainting does not resolve the source of recurring moisture. Describe the affected rooms, ventilation and any signs of leaks. Investigation should establish the cause and suitable remedial scope before decorating is arranged.
Is a damp patch near the skirting definitely rising damp?
No. Low-level staining or damaged plaster is a symptom, not proof of rising damp. Leaks, external moisture and other causes need consideration. Request an investigation before committing to injection treatment, replastering or waterproofing.
