Any workmanship guarantee is set out in your written quotation: the work covered, duration, exclusions and how to report a problem. Product warranties follow the manufacturer’s terms. A repair does not automatically guarantee the whole existing system. Your statutory consumer rights are unaffected.
Gas work must be carried out by an appropriately qualified Gas Safe registered engineer. Electrical and unvented hot-water work need the relevant competence and certification where required. Mayfair matches the work to the appropriate specialist.

Start with what you can see
That symptom needs a hot-water fault investigation, even if the radiators still work. Tell us whether you have a combi boiler, a cylinder or a communal supply, and whether every tap is affected. If only the shower has the fault, mention that before booking.
Understand the repair
The investigation follows the actual hot-water arrangement. One cold shower with working hot taps points to a different scope from losing hot water throughout the property. The assessment can include the heat source, normal controls and supply to the affected outlets.
A useful first enquiry
Read only normal user displays and settings. Do not remove immersion-heater covers, adjust safety valves or handle wiring. Unexpectedly scalding water, steam or a serious leak needs urgent specialist advice; keep people away from the affected equipment.
Boiler diagnosis, cylinder work, electrical testing and a shower-mixer repair require different skills and parts. Mayfair will clarify which assessment is appropriate and its charge. Replacement equipment is quoted separately if a repair is unsuitable.
