For safely accessible, straightforward faults. Parts, materials and further work quoted separately. If a fix needs more work, the agreed visit charge covers call-out and assessment.
Call for your visit price and arrival estimate. Sending a form does not book a visit.

A blank thermostat, unreliable schedule or lost connection can prevent the heating from doing what you expect. Tell Mayfair the control model, what the display shows and whether you need fault finding or a planned replacement.
Your visit, explained
Small problem. Sorted from £85.
From £85 including VAT
Call-out, assessment and labour to fix a small, straightforward issue on the first visit.
For safely accessible faults that can be resolved on the first visit. Parts, materials and further work are quoted separately for your approval.
One-hour arrival aim
For urgent London plumbing and heating repairs, we aim to arrive within 1 hour, subject to availability, postcode, the specialist required and travel conditions. Call for your estimated arrival time.
If a first-visit fix isn’t possible, the agreed visit charge still covers the call-out and assessment. We explain the fault and quote any parts, further investigation or larger repair for your approval.
We’ll give you the full visit price when you book. There is no additional call-out fee on top of that price.
Workmanship, warranties and specialist work
Any workmanship guarantee is set out in your written quotation: the work covered, duration, exclusions and how to report a problem. Product warranties follow the manufacturer’s terms. A repair does not automatically guarantee the whole existing system. Your statutory consumer rights are unaffected.
Gas work must be carried out by an appropriately qualified Gas Safe registered engineer. Electrical and unvented hot-water work need the relevant competence and certification where required. Mayfair matches the work to the appropriate specialist.
The situation matters more than the name of the fault. Use the safety guidance above if anyone may be at risk.
↗ Urgent repair
Call to check availability.
No heating or hot water, an active system leak, or repeated faults stopping the system? Explain what has stopped working and whether anyone in the home is particularly affected.
We aim to arrive within 1 hour for urgent London repairs, subject to availability, postcode, specialist requirements and travel conditions. The estimated arrival time and charge must be confirmed by phone. An enquiry does not book attendance.
○ Routine work
Plan the repair or service.
Annual servicing, a planned controls upgrade or one cool radiator while the rest of the home heats normally and there is no leak: send the details for a suitable assessment.
If the situation worsens or an essential facility is lost, call to discuss the change.
Understand the repair
What the engineer will do.
Controls must suit the boiler and the way heating and hot water are divided into zones. An app connection problem, a room thermostat fault and a wired control fault need different checks. A smart thermostat should be selected for compatibility, not appearance alone.
Assessment of the reported thermostat, timer or control problem
Compatibility review before a replacement is ordered
Agreed installation and setup by the appropriate trade
A demonstration of the agreed heating and hot-water controls
A useful first enquiry
What to tell Mayfair.
Share the thermostat, receiver and boiler models where visible.
Say whether the problem affects the display, app, schedule or actual heating.
List any separate zones and whether hot water has its own control.
Mention a new router, power interruption or recent equipment change.
Before any work
Check only normal user settings or user-replaceable batteries in accordance with the manual. Do not bridge terminals, bypass controls or remove wired covers. If failed controls leave the home without heat, call to discuss urgent availability.
What affects the quote?
The existing wiring, control protocol, receiver, zones and desired features affect the scope. Product supply, fitting and setup should be identified. Wi-Fi changes or wider electrical and heating faults may need separate work.
Get the fault looked at.
Send the symptoms, equipment details and postcode. We’ll arrange the right engineer to investigate the fault and explain the repair options.
Questions about thermostat & heating control repairs.
Can any smart thermostat work with my boiler?+
No. The boiler, control connections, hot-water arrangement and number of zones need checking. Send the current models and the proposed product link before buying a replacement.
Why does my thermostat say the heating is on but the radiators stay cold?+
The displayed request and the system’s response can differ. Explain whether all radiators are cold and whether the boiler shows a fault; assessment may involve more than the thermostat.
Can you set up the schedule after fitting controls?+
Ask for setup and a user demonstration in the brief. Agree the rooms or zones, normal schedule and any app requirements before the installation is confirmed.
