Questions self-employed tradespeople ask.

Do I pay for leads or a membership?
No. There is no fee to apply, no membership and nothing to pay to see or price a job. You price the work yourself and you are paid for the jobs you complete.
Can I charge my own hourly rate, like £40 an hour?
Yes. You set the price on every job, as an hourly rate or a fixed price, and the office approves it with the client before you go. We do not set or cap your rate, and we do not promise a figure: what you earn depends on your price and the jobs you take.
Is this a job or self-employed work?
Self-employed. You run your own business, invoice for the jobs you do and choose which jobs to take. It is not employment and there are no set hours.
Who sets the price?
You do. Up to three nearby trades can price each job. The office checks the price with the client before anyone is booked, so you know what the job pays before you set off.
Do I have to find the customer?
No. The jobs come from letting agents, managing agents, landlords and homeowners who already use Mayfair. The tenant picks a time on WhatsApp, so you are not chasing anyone for access.
